Duendes: A Night of Flamenco

Harris Center for the arts and Fudominal Productions join forces again for a multi-genre tribute to the historic and versatility of the Flamenco genre. This production brings an evening of internationally renowned flamenco dancers and musicians. Featuring as headliner, directly from Spain, award-winning and acclaimed dancer Alfonso Losa. Music by singers Jose Blanco "El Grillu” and Jesús Montoya, guitar virtuoso Jason McGuire “El Rubio” and an incredible ensemble of dancers which includes, Emmy Award Winner Yaelisa, Clara Rodriguez, Fanny Ara and Melissa Cruz. Join us for a visual and auditory journey through both traditional and modern expressions of this ancient art form. This is a unique collaboration that celebrates the history of flamenco as it intersects with the modern interpretation of flamenco dance, featuring a cutting-edge production including dynamic costumes, and staging.
Sacramento is quickly becoming a hub of world music and internationally renowned flamenco musicians. The Harris Center has recently hosted Deigo El Cigala, one of the most exciting flamenco voices in the world today, who has been called the ‘Sinatra of Flamenco’. The Paco de Lucia Project also was in town last year, featuring ‘El Farruco’, one of Spain’s most unique, authentic gypsy style flamenco dancers.
